I know, I've been lazy with posting. Haven't actually been using the computer much lately... hm.. I think I might be quite over my adolescent years where MSN chats, emails, forums and blogs kept me at the computer for xx hours each day. Actually, that's not it- it's because slow internet frustrates me, I'd rather play psp than wait 10 minutes for a page to load. It must have been my sister, who was over for holidays during Christmas AND played Maple Story/ downloaded stuff endlessly while she was here *accusing glare at Lemonjam*
Now that I've got home and finished a shift, I shall work on my patience and attempt to blog while being capped. Picasa, please load my pictures for me... =_=

From Week 3, 2010 |
I always wanted to get this one! It was also JF's birthday the next day, so we got two cakes to celebrate their birthdays~ this was bought from Franklins, a Freddo cake with real Freddo pieces inside the ice cream cake. After a slice of cheesecake, this tasted almost bland, haha.
From Week 3, 2010 |
Random- but tt got me this shirt last week! We both went on shopping sprees on threadless t's when it was on Christmas special and got a whole bunch of tshirts. I saw this Cheshire one a while ago, but it was always sold out. Why is it so special? Because it's more than just the cute grinning face. In the sun, the body will appear- light blue and purple stripes. In room light, the body disappears, leaving just the face, and in the dark, the grin glows. Very popular shirt, because tt just managed to get the very last one- and it's a male's medium. Not that I mind- it's so cute!
From Week 3, 2010 |
It seems like all we ever eat is Japanese... and it's actually true. Why is it that there are so many Japanese restaurants in Sydney? My sister thought that when we went to Singapore, we'd be craving Japanese food... but we had quite enough of Japanese food in Sydney. This was Ichiban Boshi's katsu rice set, pork.
From Week 3, 2010 |
And for a change, this was breakfast the next day. The usual "quick meal set" at Tim Tim House, with soup of the day, a drink (they serve authentic iced lemon tea- using real strongly brewed tea, real slices of lemon, and glucose syrup, none of that bottled sugar water you get in supermarkets and most restaurants) and their set meal of the day. You can choose to add fried egg or sausages. Very typical HK style~ that day, it was sliced beef with preserved veggies. Order, give them 1/2 minute for the drink to arrive, and another minute for the soup to arrive, and 1-2 minutes before the meal comes too. Really quick service =D
From Week 3, 2010 |
I think we are really getting bored of Sydney. It's really about time we went to somewhere new and fun =( Hoping to save up enough for another Japan trip sometime in the (close-ish) future, but until then... there's really only Market City, Capitol Square... etc... this was taken at Passion Flower at Capitol.
From Week 3, 2010 |
We haven't actually been to Passion Flower in a long, long time.
From Week 3, 2010 |
They must have changed their menu, because I don't remember these being there a few years ago.
From Week 3, 2010 |
But Passion Flower has always had the bad reputation of being overpriced (still is) and horrible service where customers get the feeling they are being rushed out of the place. Dining in cost way more than taking it away, but most of the stuff can get quite messy, ie ice cream, and you'd really want to sit down and eat it properly with spoons and serviettes without it dripping all over the place.
From Week 3, 2010 |
For some reason, we were feeling really tired that day. Must have been the weather, the warm, humid but cloudy kind of weather is actually the worst kind, because on top of being hot and sticky, you don't even get to see the sun. At least we're more than half way through summer... cannot wait till winter! =D
From Week 3, 2010 |
Oh wait, what was I talking about...? Losing track of what I'm actually blogging about and digressing off to Wonderland. Yep, so we were feeling tired and decided to stop by Passion Flower for something small. We were determined to stay there and not get chased out by rude service, and I think we managed just that. Not that the place gets crowded or in want of tables anyway, it's a pretty quiet place. We ordered some black sesame glutinous balls, crushed peanuts and ice cream before sitting ourselves comfortably... and started grinding in FF tactics. We must have stayed there for an hour or so, haha.
From Week 3, 2010 |
Random drink- marble ramune, but not quite. It came in a plastic bottle, not glass =( It's more cost efficient, but you lose the whole marble-clinking-against-glass while drinking... and it didn't really taste that nice either.
Friday was quite nice =) Went to Bondi Junction for a bit of shopping *guys shrink away in horror*. Actually, I think I was the one who got a little bored, so I feel sorry for tt, who had to put up with me going -___-, but we did manage to buy what was needed- fabric.
From Week 3, 2010 |
Shopping is so unhealthy. Not because we buy lots of useless things, but to sate boredom, we get food instead. Chocolates from a chocolate cafe at the food courts. Two butter logs and one dark chocolate/ milk chocolate mousse. Bondi Junction has a Max Brenna! It's everywhere now- Chatswood, Castle Hill, City... These chocolate cafes are becoming more and more popular. Same with cupcake shops. They should just stop opening them already, cupcakes look cute, but they don't taste anything special.
From Week 3, 2010 |
Once more to Ichiban Boshi. Wait wait, my photos aren't in order o O'' This was at the start before we went shopping at Spotlight for fabrics. My tanuki udon. Funny how it's named after a raccoon... but I don't know why.
From Week 3, 2010 |
Bondi Junction also has a Japan City, as does most Westfield, but this one is the only one I've seen that has a restaurant attached to it. Upon entering the store, you'd see a normal Japan City store- with overpriced chopsticks, teacups, origami papers and tea cannisters, what not. Towards the left is a counter where you can order food- mainly overpriced set dishes and sushi. Walking past the counter down the side are tables set up like this.
From Week 3, 2010 |
tt wants one- but this one costs $160. I was thinking... this is really just a wooden stick through fabric, it's really not hard to make. I guess the material and printing will cost quite a bit, but... $160?? I can hack the handle off a broom and sew on some $10 per metre fabric for less than $20~! This will be another thing to look for in Japan I guess~ it does look quite nice framing a doorway.
From Week 3, 2010 |
Don't ask me why we even got it. We really just wanted to sit down and... well, grind some more on the purple psp. Still, nice presentation... that's what you pay for really.
From Week 3, 2010 |
Wow, my pictures are really out of order. This was at Spotlight, when we were looking for sewing patterns. The thick book had heaps of interesting costumes, including dog costumes XD Hot dog~! And the princess dog at the bottom of the page looks very much like YJ's dog Happy. Wonder why you don't see cat costumes...
From Week 3, 2010 |
And... our purchases from the shopping trip to Bondi? White and blue fabric, plus the pattern for kimono/ yukata. This will be Project Shiki (Ryougi- from Kara no Kyoukai) and it'll be a miracle if I can actually get this done, considering how I don't know the first thing about sewing and I can't even decipher the pattern ^^'' Oh well, something to learn!
My siblings and dad will be going to Hong Kong soon... leaving my mum and me behind =( I really should go back some time, but my mum did say I could go with tt next time... though that will be quite far in the future. Saving up for Japan first... and then Hong Kong... was actually hoping to go back to Singapore for another visit, but I guess Hong Kong is more urgent. I need to get my ID card, since mine expired 3+ years ago.
From Week 3, 2010 |
It's still a laminated card from 2003!!
Who knows though. If my sister sends me a wedding invite, maybe I'll end up going to Singapore soon? *hint hint, Lemonjam and M!!* =P

The stuff at Japan City tends to be overpriced - an understatement at times.
On the subject of tanuki from wikipedia, fyi: tempura with no filling (たね) was called たねぬき=>種抜き (commonly called 揚げ玉), which changed to たぬき over time.
whoa, haven't been to passionaflower for a long time...
what's project shiki? is someone doing cosplay?
tt: ahh... I was thinking tanuki as in raccoon... and I don't see how the udon resembled tanuki in any way ^^'' 教えてくれてありがとうね、先生!
K: Project Shiki is really just to make Ryougi Shiki's kimono, the blue one. Just for fun, not necessarily for cosplay, but it'll be challenging, not to mention I have a very under-used sewing machine sitting at home collecting dust.
BUT..... but.... i did not DL alot of things... i only played maple story~!!!! i miss maple story...
no la, i miss u all~!!
